Today, I had a sudden brainwave – the problem with our nation? We are too busy surviving from moment to moment. They call it running life on ad hoc basis.

We don’t treat the disease. We only treat the symptoms.

We might have “big picture” thinkers but all our energies are devoted to surviving today. One problem at a time.

Unfortunately, this doesn’t solve the problem. It only prolongs the agony. Sigh.

The patient still dies at the end.

They say, if you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem. It reminds me of Munir Niazi’s Punjabi poem Honi day heelay,” (translation: “Excuses for the inevitable.”). It’s our national theme song.

Bottom line, since I can’t stop the train wreck from happening, I might as well accept the inevitable and accept the blame. Afterall, I am putting up with this sh*t, arn’t I?
